Our Story

Imagine for a moment… it’s a Thursday night in 1995. The clock says 12:34 am. You’ve labeled your last quart container with blue tape and a black Sharpie. Every stainless steel surface in the kitchen is gleaming and there’s not a single crumb in your fridge gaskets.

You and your line cooks breathe in the lingering, conflicting smell of a combo of degreaser and fryer oil, then let out a collective sigh of success. Over 200 people fed and countless tickets executed flawlessly in perfect sync with your front of house. A dance worthy of a Broadway stage.

All that’s left to do is decide where to unwind for the night. It’s an easy choice — you go where you can celebrate your wins or commiserate in your losses with people who just get it. You go where you can share trade secrets, menu ideas, contacts, and struggles with other chefs who understand the value of community…or at least you used to, before the saturation of the “celebrity chef”s. Before your craft was driven by social emphasis on likes and follows. And before your sense of community was destroyed by a global pandemic.

We all deserve to get that sense of connection back, but this time we can take it a step further. Instead of linking up with just the chefs in your neighborhood, For Chef’s Eyes Only is building a community of chefs across the country, in cities big and small.

We know what you’re thinking — you can’t handle another social media platform. LinkedIn is the worst, you couldn’t edit a TikTok to save your life, and you can’t get on IG without getting sucked into 20 minutes of mindless scrolling and soliciting DMs — but this ain’t your nephew’s social media doom scroll.

This is a private community website where you can truly connect with other chefs, share resources, tap into a calendar of industry events, enjoy access to supplier discounts, and source trained, vetted line cook talent from all over the world.

For Chef’s Eyes Only is the first website of its kind and guaranteed to foster the feelings of camaraderie, community, and solidarity that the restaurant industry is missing.

This is a space exclusively for Executive Chefs, CDCs, Sous Chefs, and Pastry Chefs to let their hair down and be reminded of why we do what we do.

This is the next frontier for chefs. Like the chefs that came before us, congregating at the Blue Ribbon, this is our space to reconnect, recharge, and revitalize.
